I grew up wandering Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay and the surrounding marshes and woodlands. By the age of twelve I was exploring the wildlife and landscapes I was seeing in the form of oil paintings and sculpture. This evolved into a lifelong artistic pursuit of my vision and interpretation of wildlife.   I was influenced by the style and distinct character of waterfowl decoys used on the Bay.  I had an opportunity to work with some of the old masters of decoy making and absorbed their creative style and paintwork.   I spent my teen summers repairing and repainting damaged and worn decoys from the Edgewood Arsenal Rod and Gun Club and gained invaluable experience in evaluating and replicating the work of the masters of the trade. Today, I continue my pursuit and exploration of wildlife in oil flatwork and sculpture.  I am happy to report that the old adage “Some things never change” applies to my love and regard for color and artwork.  My eyes are still 18.
